Quick Verdict

Mud WTR is a coffee substitute that’s filled with a blend of organic ingredients like organic masala chai spices, cacao, and mushrooms, providing helpful levels of energy and focus.

Its Ayurvedic herbs and adaptogens like turmeric, ginger, and black pepper work on boosting our immunity, reducing stress, and improving general wellbeing.

It contains substantially reduced caffeine content at only around 35mg per serving, compared to an average of 95mg in a regular cup of coffee, meaning stable energy levels and alertness without jitters and energy slumps.

It tastes great – not exactly like coffee, but like a cinnamon-rich mocha flavor with hints of ginger and an earthy aftertaste – I was impressed.

Despite its distinctive earthy aftertaste and higher price point compared to average coffee drinks, MUD\WTR stands out as a healthier lifestyle shift that promotes holistic wellness.

What Is MUD\WTR – Why Drink Mushroom Coffee?

MUD\WTR are based and operate in Venice, CA. All their mushrooms are grown in America, while other ingredients sourced from across the globe.

MUD\WTR is really popular for so many who are seeking a different kind of morning coffee. It carries a full-bodied texture that I can only describe as similar to the comforts of masala chai and hot cocoa. It still gives that warm, cozy comfort we seek from a traditional coffee.

It’s a healthier coffee alternative that reduces caffeine content and replaces with more useful ingredients for our health and wellbeing. MUD\WTR aims to become a deliberate lifestyle choice that supports overall wellness.

I’m not going to beat around the bush here – MUD\WTR is a quality mushroom coffee that is really worth considering. Its blend boasts a lower caffeine content without sacrificing that kick to our energy and focus we love to start the day with – here it lasts longer, and we have extra health benefits too.

MUD\WTR Benefits

Here’s what you can expect:

This is probably the biggest deal to most of us a little anxious about replacing that all important cup of coffee. Many of us can’t really get started until we’ve had that first brew, and we all know there’s an impending lull looming afterwards.

With MUD\WTR, we still get that caffeine (phew), but in a sensible low dose of just 35mg of caffeine per cup – that’s considerably less than the average 95mg we’re guzzling per brew. This is especially good news for most of us – whether we’re looking to reduce our caffeine intake, or if we’re sensitive to it and don’t otherwise get to enjoy its benefits.

The magic in MUD\WTR stems from the blend of nutrient-rich mushrooms, such as Lion’s Mane, Cordyceps, Chaga, and Reishi. These mushrooms are renowned in the wellness community for their natural brain-boosting abilities, contributing energy and focus without jittery side effects.

MUD\WTR’s blend distinguishes itself with its incorporation of Ayurvedic herbs and adaptogens – we’re talking turmeric, ginger, black pepper, and others that not only stimulate the mind, but also promote a holistic wellness approach. They are known to enhance immunity, reduce stress, and improve overall wellbeing. Who knew you could get so much from one hot drink?!

Not sure what adaptogens are? Essentially, they’re non-toxic plants that support the adrenal system. What this means is that they help balance, restore and protect our body by responding to any influences and stresses, normalizing our physiological functions.

With them, we cope with stress better and restore balance.

MUD\WTR Ingredients

MUD\WTR, which is often called the mud whip, is packed with USDA organic powdered ingredients. Better still, it is devoid of any unnecessary artificial agents or sugar – so you can enjoy even two cups of coffee of the mushroom variety without compromising your health.

Here’s what you get in each cup of MUD|WTR:

The mushroom blend in MUD\WTR includes four key varieties: Lion’s Mane, Cordyceps, Chaga, and Reishi. Each of these offers distinct health benefits.

Lion’s Mane is known for its cognitive-enhancing properties, Chaga for boosting immunity, Reishi for promoting relaxation, and Cordyceps for increasing energy. The total mushroom content is about 2,240 mg per serving, ensuring you get a good dose of these beneficial fungi.

MUD\WTR incorporates an array of spices which gives it that warm, comforting flavor to ease all the wondrous mushrooms into a more palatable taste. This taste of the East comes from the cinnamon, turmeric, cardamom, ginger, black pepper, nutmeg, and cloves in each cup, all known for their respective health benefits from aiding digestion to reducing inflammation.

The cacao is what adds a subtle sweetness to the mix, while the black tea powder adds a familiar kick for tea and coffee lovers. This keeps the caffeine content down to a sensible 35 mg per serving, which is a fraction of the caffeine found in traditional coffee, perfect for a coffee detox program.

A pinch of Himalayan pink salt in MUD\WTR might sound strange in a beverage, but it brings its own set of benefits, including aiding hydration and balancing the body’s pH levels.

This is a great collection of ingredients here. Plenty of mushroom content which is what we’re really here for, plus some helpful inclusions to give us plenty of calm energy while managing stress and balance. MUD\WTR is also certified 100% USDA organic and non-GMO, which gives me confidence in this product’s quality and its commitment to us health-conscious consumers.

The fact that it’s also gluten-free, vegan, Whole30-approved, and kosher clearly echoes its versatility in accommodating to various dietary preferences.

MUD\WTR Price

Price is an important element to choosing the right mushroom coffee. I’ll be frank with you, MUD\WTR isn’t the cheapest. It is more expensive compared to your typical cup of coffee, but I was expecting this to be the case.

Like other nootropic supplements, MUD\WTR is priced with its health benefits in mind, which are far more than what standard coffee offers.

The Morning Ritual Starter Kit, retailing for around $40, is more than worth the price tag. It includes a 30-serving tin of MUD\WTR, a USB rechargeable frother, a guidebook, and other useful accessories. And as someone who’s trialed mushroom coffees, I can confidently say that the frother is a real bonus – it significantly improved my overall MUD\WTR experience.

The guidebook is also really helpful, especially when you’re new to this type of coffee, giving you lots of informative brewing techniques – that’s right, there’s a lot you can do when making coffee with MUD\WTR!

Now, it’s also essential we discuss the affordability of the company’s subscription service. As a regular user, I found this to be the most cost-effective way to continue having my MUD\WTR drink every day. The subscription cost covers the 30-serving tin, which is usually priced around $40 when buying individually. In my opinion, it’s worth every cent.

But let’s not forget about their other offerings. They also have creamer and sweetener products available, which start at around $20 each. Though optional, they did provide an interesting twist to the drink’s taste.

Summarizing, the pricing for MUD\WTR is very fair. With it you get this wonderful coffee that’s put a tablespoon or two of mental clarity, sustained energy, and overall holistic wellness in for good measure.

Yes, it is higher priced than ordinary coffee. Of course it is. The organic ingredients, health benefits, and delicious flavors packed in each serving justify the cost. And as we all know, investing in our health is truly priceless. I firmly believe that you get what you pay for with MUD\WTR, especially when considering its quality compared to other brands like love coffee.

What Does MUD\WTR Taste Like?

Taste is also another factor that can make or break the success of a mushroom coffee. If you like the taste of a coffee alternative, then it’s much more likely you’ll stick to it – and that’s when you’ll see the biggest improvements.

When you first try this type of coffee, you’ll notice its earthy taste. That’s mostly the mushrooms. Some people love it, some people hate it – most of us adjust to it over time, knowing it’s never going to be exactly the same as coffee, because it’s offering so much more.

The good news is, MUD\WTR scores pretty well in this department, and tastes much better than its name suggests. Imagine a jam session where the spicy chords of masala chai merge seamlessly with the mellow beats of cacao. This results in a rich, full-bodied texture, harmonizing into what some will liken to a cinnamon-rich mocha.

Each sip reveals layers of distinct tastes that justify its unique formula with a hint of Cacao with Chai Spices.

It does still have that earthy taste to it. It’s an acquired taste, and your first impression might not be all that positive, as you’re not used to it. I guess it’s a bit like that first glass of Pinot – sometimes the first sip isn’t 100% to your liking, but your palate adjusts and you start to enjoy it and appreciate its notes.

This is the same for this type of coffee alternative. Over time, you’ll find this aftertaste contributes to the overall charm and character of MUD\WTR, and you know it’s filled with goodness (unlike a Pinot!).

The strong and spicy undercurrents from classic masala chai spices like cinnamon, cardamom, cloves, nutmeg, and black pepper interweave beautifully with the inherent bitter-sweet notes of cacao, whipping up a nuanced spicy-sweet rhythm on your palate. The cinnamon really is a standout addition – I think it edges the flavor to a cut above the rest.

If you really are struggling to adjust, try adding a tablespoon of coconut milk, or even a dash of cream. There are plenty of options on their website, and the recipe guide you get in the starter kit is really helpful, too.

How To Make A MUD\WTR Latte

If you’re new to this, the thought of making a coffee with mushrooms may seem a little… odd. So here’s an outline of what I’ve been doing to make a MUD\WTR latte.

Obviously, you’ll need the MUD\WTR Powder – there are some links that take you directly to their official site. It is available in various tempting blends, each with its unique benefits. From the pick-me-up :rise Cacao to a soothing :rest Rooibos, and the invigorating :rise Matcha or the balanced :balance Turmeric – you can choose as per your taste, need, or mood.

If you are particular about the texture of your latte, a creamer is a top gadget. MUD\WTR offers a coconut milk-based creamer, but if you subscribe to the ‘variety is the spice of life’ adage like me, there are other alternatives such as almond milk, which is lovely.

You can also sweeten it with sugar (you can do anything you want to it really, so long as you enjoy it), but with mudwtr, I find that I enjoy it more without added sugars. While MUD\WTR brand’s coconut palm sugar is a good option, alternatives like honey also work really well.

Another critical piece of equipment is the frother. The Mud Whip supplied by MUD\WTR does a great job, but any frother would suffice. Now you’ve got everything, here’s what to do:

1. Prepare the MUD\WTR: One tablespoon of MUD\WTR powder needs to go into a mug.

2. Add creamer and sweetener (if using): In goes one tablespoon of the creamer (coconut milk and MCT oil based creamer are top picks). Sweeteners like coconut palm sugar or honey can be added, but it’s purely a personal preference; froth the MUD\WTR for a creamier texture.

3. Add hot water: Fill the rest of the mug with hot water over the MUD\WTR powder, creamer, and sweetener mix, and enjoy your tablespoon of mud.

My Experience With MUD\WTR

Coming from a fairly “pro-coffee” background, my switch to MUD\WTR was initially met with a little skepticism, even though I was enthusiastic about trying it. My quest for better health and a focused mind made me give this coffee alternative a try. I was swayed by its intelligent blend, custom-designed to offer both energy and wellness, minus the caffeine downfalls.

First off, I loved the taste, as mentioned above. Yes, you need to get used to it not tasting exactly like coffee; but when you start feeling better in general, the MUD\WTR becomes a crave – and it does taste good in comparison to others I’ve tried.

So what about the benefits? Within the first week, there was a noticeable change in my energy distribution. I experienced a steady focus throughout the day, without the mid-afternoon slump I used to get with coffee. MUD\WTR’s modest 35mg of caffeine provided a gentle lift, more akin to black tea.

In the second week, I ventured to try the :rest Rooibos blend for my evening ritual. I must admit that the calming effects of rooibos and ashwagandha did wonders for my stress levels, massaging me into a relaxed state before bed.

The only real downfall is that earthy taste – but it’s unavoidable, and it did grow on me. And there’s also the heftier price tag – you’ll notice a difference compared to your standard coffee cost.

But you’ll also notice the difference in your health, productivity, and wellness, bringing huge value to what you’re paying. It’s an investment, a healthier lifestyle shift, a pathway to holistic wellness that is well worth exploring.

My Verdict On MUD\WTR – Should You Buy It?

After trialing Mud WTR, I can honestly say it’s more than just a coffee substitute. It’s a lifestyle choice that can positively impact your health and wellness. Its top-tier blends create a flavorful beverage that offers sustained energy without the negatives associated with coffee.

The taste might be a bit surprising at first, but it’s part of the unique Mudwtr experience. Yes, it’s pricier than your regular cup of joe, but the original blend offers real benefits that justify the cost.

Taking these health benefits, improved focus, and the overall wellness it promotes into consideration, I’d say mudwtr is a very worthwhile investment. Should you buy Mud WTR? If you’re looking to make a positive change to your daily routine, my answer is a resounding yes.
