Nootropics, so called ‘smart-drugs’, are all the rage. They represent a growing part of a growing market, as they carve out their own spot in the ever burgeoning supplement world.
I can see why. We are all overstimulated and overworked. Many of us want far more out of life than we get, or indeed than we have the energy and mental capacity to get or achieve. Energy and attention can be hard to come by.
We are also living longer as a society, though neurodegenerative diseases like Alzheimer’s and dementia are as present and as cruel as ever.
Nootropics can help with all of this – or, at least, top-tier ones can. They can give us more energy over a sustained, even period, with greater focus, clarity, concentration, and long-term and working memory, whilst also helping to ensure long-term cognitive health.
If you want a top-tier nootropic – and I would suggest you do – then you can’t go far wrong with Mind Lab Pro, one of the best examples of its kind on today’s market.
Mind Lab Pro – An Introduction
Mind Lab Pro from Opti-Nutra is a high-quality nootropic – a ‘smart drug’. Its effects center on multiple pathways in the brain. It helps to optimize the ways in which we generate and maintain waves and chemicals, whilst also improving protection and regeneration within the brain.
In the long run, Mind Lab Pro should support healthy neural plasticity whilst mitigating and slowing the effects of mental aging and natural cognitive decline.
There are plenty of nootropics on the market; however, Mind Lab Pro can legitimately claim to be a little different to the rest. It aids both short- and long-term brain health and performance. It is a ‘whole brain’ supplement in this regard.
This all comes from a laundry list of fantastic ingredients. Everything included is backed up by solid research and data – the scientific underpinning is superlative, in fact – not something that we often see in this relatively new space in the supplementation market.
There are plenty of benefits you can expect to gain from taking Mind Lab Pro regularly and for the long term. It should help to improve information retention, while at the same time enabling faster, easier information recall. It should allow you to multitask more easily, more efficiently, and with greater focus and clarity.
As well as improving focus and clarity, you should find a slight energy boost from Mind Lab Pro. This isn’t from any kind of stimulant, however. Rather, it should be from a more natural uptick in enthusiasm and motivation. You should feel calmer overall, without any of the jitters that a more stimulant-focused supplement might bring.
In the long run, Mind Lab Pro should support healthy neural plasticity whilst mitigating and slowing the effects of mental aging and natural cognitive decline.
Mind Lab Pro Ingredients
Mind Lab Pro makes some high and mighty claims. For instance, Opti-Nutra claim that it is ‘The most innovative and effective nootropic formula ever made’. I don’t know about this. There are plenty of high-quality, innovative smart drugs out there. However, Opti-Nutra aren’t completely off – the formula is fantastic.
An intelligent blend of 11 nootropics, all highly researched and delivered in usable dosages and advanced forms, makes sure that you really are getting a good shot of brain health.
Mind Lab Pro contains Lion’s Mane, a unique mushroom well-known for boosting brain health. It stimulates nerve growth factor (NGF) production. This may help in aiding healthy neural regeneration and myelin nerve sheath synthesis.
It may also lead to optimized brain plasticity, which in turn will aid learning and memory recall, whilst additionally promoting robust brain cell replication. It may also help you to maintain an even mood.
You also get a good dose of citicoline with Mind Lab Pro. Citicoline can improve brain cell membrane formation by over 25%. It may also improve brain energy by as much as 13.6%. It helps to energize brain cells whilst also optimizing the neural electrical impulses that underpin all cognitive activity.
Citicoline also helps you to synthesize phosphatidylcholine – a phospholipid found in brain cell membranes – and can support neurotransmitters, including acetylcholine. This can mean improved brain cell repair and regeneration. It is also a powerful antioxidant.
Our brains lose phospholipids like phosphatidylcholine as we age. Phosphatidylcholine comprises around 15% of the brain’s fats and is found most concentrated in brain cell membranes.
As a nootropic, phosphatidylcholine may aid in memory sharpness and recall, whilst also slowing natural cognitive decline and improving mood and outlook. It can lead to greater mental clarity and a decrease in anxiety.
Mind Lab Pro’s bacopa monnieri content should lead to improvements in memory. It can enhance immediate recall and learning, including new information retention. It may also slow the rate at which you forget new information, boost mental processing, and optimize cognition under stress.
Maritime pine bark is rich in antioxidants. The proanthocyanidin compounds they contain have also been linked to enhanced attention, learning, focus, and energy in the short term. In the long run, it can maintain brain health and memory.
Mind Lab Pro also contains both l-tyrosine and l-theanine.
L-tyrosine should optimize mental performance across all tasks. It can improve working memory and enable better multitasking, especially under stress or in the presence of fatigue and sleep deprivation. It may also be able to optimize attention and focus.
Meanwhile, l-theanine helps to promote feelings of calm whilst also improving attention, clarity, focus and alertness. It aids studying and new learning as well as creative problem solving.
You get plenty of the herbal adaptogen rhodiola rosea with each Mind Lab Pro dose. It helps to strengthen resilience to mental and physical stress, whilst also optimizing cognitive energy levels. All told, it should help to promote calmness and clarity with improved mood. It can also help in enhancing memory, attention span, mental processing, learning, and work capacity.
Finally, you get a good vitamin B complex with Mind Lab Pro. It delivers vitamins B6, B9, and B12, which all work synergistically to aid mental performance, especially through cognitive decline and brain ageing. They can help to promote balanced mood with improved mental energy, whilst promoting long-term brain health.
Does Mind Lab Pro Work?
Nootropic supplements in general are a very good idea. They tend to work well, improving cognition. However, most only do so by targeting a couple of pathways, undertaking two or three angles of attack. They may only support memory, or long-term cognition, or focus. They may contain only synthetic ingredients, or only botanicals.
Mind Lab Pro goes further than this. It is more of a universal nootropic – or it is, at least, as close to universal as most contemporary nootropics have managed to get. Each dose works to optimize as many mental functions and brain pathways as possible, to keep as many as possible as healthy as possible.
It works to optimize a broader coverage of your cognitive health, in short, giving you an incredible boost to your overall mental performance. It can help you to meet every daily mental obstacle, whilst giving you the energy and clarity you need, both long and short term, to live your best life.
Mind Lab Pro does all of this whilst managing to stay clear of stimulants. Many nootropics rely on stimulants like caffeine to give you a buzz, to lift your mood and speed up your thinking processes.
The problem with this is that this approach will always lead to energy dips and crashes. This kind of stimulation also brings its own side effects and health concerns.
So yes, Mind Lab Pro works incredibly well, across a broad range of pathways, across multiple avenues, with few if any negative side effects. It really is very impressive.
Using Mind Lab Pro
So what is Mind Lab Pro actually like to use? How should you approach it, what can you expect, and does the reality match the theory?
In short, it is great to use, easy to approach, and yes, it does everything it says on the tin. Mind Lab Pro really does seem to give you the cognitive support you would want from such a seemingly good nootropic supplement.
Everything is fast-acting. It will make you feel far more switched on within just half an hour or so, though long-term use is advisable and you’ll likely feel the best results after around the first month.
When I used it, I found any brain fog (which is often a problem with me) dispersing pretty quickly, and it wasn’t affecting me at all after a week or two of taking Mind Lab Pro. I was able to focus more intensely, especially during harder workouts, and didn’t burn out anywhere near as quickly as I usually would have otherwise.
My verbal fluidity improved, too. I have no bother finding words when I’m writing. However, I often get words caught on the tip of my tongue when speaking.
This went away when I was taking Mind Lab Pro. Everything seemed available for me on instant recall. I was thinking more clearly, more quickly, too, so that everyday tasks took far less effort and time to complete.
It’s easy to take, at least in its milder dose. You should take two capsules each morning before food. I would recommend taking it with coffee for an extra pick-me-up (the kind for which I’m always grateful!). However, you needn’t take any kind of caffeine at all to make it work.
If you need a top-up, you should then take two more around midday. I did this and found the clarity and energy lasting right up into the evening. I was more cheerful, more energetic, sharper, and quicker-witted throughout the day.
My experience of using Mindlab Pro was extremely positive and it is likely I will continue to use the supplement such was the positive impact it had on my day-to-day performance.
Mindlab Pro User Reviews
If you want to know what a product is like, there is nobody better to ask than regular people who have bought it and lived with it. With Mind Lab Pro, this is a very reassuring experience. The vast, vast majority of user reviews seem to be incredibly positive.
Most reviewers of Mindlab Pro I have found have used it long term with great success. They have very few bad things to say about it, referring instead to the improved clarity and focus it gives every single day.
Plenty of people use it with coffee for a bit of an extra kick, though plenty of people note that using it on its own is generally more than enough for improved cognition.
The age range of people who can benefit is seemingly very wide. Users in their seventies have reported finding just a couple of capsules per day incredibly beneficial. It has proven to benefit both long-term memory and short-term recall, which many older users have reported.
Though it costs a bit more than some of its competition, user reviews don’t feel unimpressed by this. In fact, many go out of their way to point out how it is worth the extra money to get such a superior product!
The customer care that comes with Mind Lab Pro generally comes in for a lot of praise. Issues with shipments seem to be dealt with quickly and efficiently by a dedicated, friendly team. Most users report feeling like genuinely valued customers.
Scientific user data is also strong. A reader in Motor Control and Development at the University of Leeds in the UK called the results from the first few months impressive, citing a surprising degree of statistical significance in measured improvements.
Mind Lab Pro Compared
I want to put Mind Lab Pro into some kind of context. It is clearly one of the better nootropics available on today’s market. However, it is far from the only high-quality ones going.
NooCube is another strong contender. It may in fact have a slight edge over Mind Lab Pro, depending on what you’re personally looking for, and the unique ways in which your own brain chemistry works.
Both contain a great many similarities with one another. Neither gives any side effects of note. Neither contains caffeine, and each contains the same amount of l-theanine, one of the better active ingredients in each one’s formulae.
However, Mind Lab Pro cannot quite compete with its bacopa monnieri and l-tyrosine contents – both are found in substantially higher doses in NooCube.
NooCube is also a little cheaper per bottle, with some great savings to be made in their bulk order discounts.
You may prefer one over the other. Either will serve you well, and I personally respond better to Mind Lab Pro. However, like for like, NooCube does seem to offer a little better value for money and is well worthy of consideration.

Verdict
Mind Lab Pro really does seem to be one of the best nootropics money can buy. Its ability to improve multiple pathways through the interaction of its eleven active, high-quality, multi-use ingredients puts it head and shoulders above most of the competition.
It has a good reputation in keeping with my own experience of it. I found Mind Lab Pro to be incredibly effective. There were plenty of things at work, I’m sure. However, the net result was more nebulous and more profound than the theory might suggest. I felt more switched on, I felt more alert, I felt happier, keener on life, more energized, more enthusiastic about everything.
Simply put, I just felt better, which seems to be how everybody feels when they take Mind Lab Pro.
